I started creating a very complicated budget manually. How do I change the date or copy the Budget to the correct FY. You can create a budget using the previous year's data. This option will copy all the information to the current fiscal year. However, we can't do it vice versa. Once you've created the budget for a preceding year, you can't copy all the information and transfer it to the previous fiscal year.

Selecting Create New Budget on the budget screen will allow you to create a budget for the fiscal year you need.

If you need the specific numbers that you've entered into the budget already, the recommendation is to print or use the Budget Overview report so that you don't have to try to enter from memory. There is no need to complicate the response by offering advice and insights on creating a budget when clearly a budget has already been created. Unfortunately, there are an over-abundance of non answers - many from Intuit Reps - in this new forum like: contact the CRA and ask an accountant - entities who don't necessarily know how to record a transaction in Quickbooks.

I hear what you're saying, though, about accountants or the CRA not always being familiar with the program. Find the budget you are currently working on and click on the upside down triangle at the right of that budget. To avoid confusion, you may want to go back in to "Budgeting" and delete the original budget with the wrong fiscal year.

You can follow the steps listed above in using the Budget Overview r eport if you'd like to use past information and numbers when creating a new budget. The dates for your past transactions will still be the same, but the format is no longer the same as what was previously set in QuickBooks Online QBO. We wouldn't need 2 separate formats if you would just make an option available with MMM for month instead of MM, ie. Please read our documentation file to know how to change colors as you want. Since your transaction date isn't updated, you'll want to contact our Customer Care Support.
